Marilee Joy Mayfield

From the moment her mother read her a picture book of Pinocchio at age three, Marilee Joy Mayfield developed a deep fascination with children’s literature.

At eleven, she and her younger sister launched a magazine, an early sign of her lifelong passion for storytelling.

By her early twenties, she was already working as a teacher and curriculum writer, eventually gaining experience in every stage of the publishing process, from initial concept to completed book.

Marilee’s creative focus has always centered on fairy tales and stories that encourage children to grow into kind, empathetic individuals.

Writing both fiction and nonfiction for children remains her greatest passion, and she has no plans to ever retire. Knowing that her stories have found a place in the homes of thousands of families brings her immense joy.
